THE CASTLE OF NEUENBURG
Regional Museum, Karlsruhe, Germany, 1100 sq.m., 2001

Vivid stagings of Wilhelm Hauff's fairy tale: «A heart of stone» delight and astound the audience. The artistic design is overwhelming and highly innovative. The production offers emotional insights to the cultural background of the Northern Black Forest. The story of coalmunk-Peter and Dutch-Michael is told in several stages, each one performed as excitingly and strikingly as the other. The second part of the adventure-museum is dedicated to explaining the history of the city and the castle of Neuenbürg: the castle inhabitants of the present and of former days are all abroad. The castle is empty, save for servant Ambrosius, who looks after the old furniture and leads the visitors through the rooms.
