We have created the largest existing aerial photograph of Switzerland on a scale of 1:20'000 at the Swiss Museum of Transport and Communication in a most poetical manner. Beginning with man's desire to survey and arrange his surroundings, we lead the visitor onto a gangway, where he will float in the air over our planet like a bird. Looking down from an altitude of over 74'000 meters he will see a singular panorama of Switzerland expanding deep below. Once again alighted on the map, the search for his own house may begin. Thus «Swissarena» makes it possible to experience Switzerland in an entirely new way. Numerous hands-on furnish graphic comparisons of scales and valuable information on map-making and the Swiss history of transport. Thereby the presentation adopts a central concern of the Museum of Transport and Communication in Lucerne.
