THE MUSEUM OF HISTORY LUCERNE
Lucerne, Switzerland, 1280 sq.m., 2003
Art Director at Steiner Sarnen Swiss
The new exhibition at the Museum of History in Lucerne - a walk-in storehouse - has become reality. It transformed from an arsenal into a modern storehouse. Exhibits of long forgotten times are dressed in up-to-date storage style. The surplus stock of history has been sorted, classified and stacked according to material, size, length and weight.
In the highly confidential area of the museum a storehouse employee takes the visitors on an exciting journey. Various daily tours lead the visitors to all kinds of adventures where they may discover small and large treasures of the museum, evoking high emotions. An ancient hat in a box on top, various spears or the interesting narratives of a birth chair. With help of a bar code reading device or a stock-book the visitors can navigate and move through another part of the museum - the storage showroom. Where can I find old flags or trophies, where are the spears and alphorns stored?
And the children will want to try out the treasure-hunt game first.
