Artist Hugo Schaer in his video drama “Ivan Vorobjov” let us to revive two historical moments again. About one hundred years ago, in June 27, 1905 sailors revolved on the tsar’s war ship “Prince Potemkin” because of spoiltmeat in the ration. Population of Odessa showed a heroic solidarity with the sailors. Troops of the tsar bloodily defeatedthe revolved people on the stairs in Odessa.
Twenty years after Russian film director Sergej Eisenstein, made a film “Battlership Potemkin” as a recollection of the revolt. Amateur actor, legless invalid Ivan Vorobjov played an unforgettable part in the movie.
Hugo Schaer found a daughter of Vorobjov, Galina Ivanovna in Odessa. She and other inhibitors of Odessa recollect the legendary film and its basis – the historical events, which were taken place on Potemkin’s stairs in Odessa.
